Vástadus eana - The Answer is Land

Ánnámáret is going to join to Vástadus eana - The Answer is Land performing group. Fellowship between people and kinship with the nature around us are the main themes in Vástádus eana – The Answer is Land by the Sámi choreographer Elle Sofe Sara.

Yoik, the Sámi folk music, is the main element of the performance. It creates a uniquely powerful and beautiful experience, which lingers long after the last notes have faded. The work is made with and for the seven female performers, who are all renowned dancers and yoikers. They come from different backgrounds, bringing their own story and voice into the work. The choreography is inspired by how people move in demonstrations, Sámi spiritual practices and formation dance.

 The choreography is inspired by demonstrations, Sami spiritual practices and formation dance. Written specially for the performance by composer and professor of yoik, Frode Fjellheim, the polyphonic yoik works as a supportive pillar throughout the work.
